The Military Reunion Network launched an ongoing nationwide survey in 2024 to better understand the impact military reunions have on Veteran mental health, social connections, and sense of belonging. The resulting Reunion Impact Report examines Veterans’ experiences before, during, and after attending a reunion, including changes in communication, relationships, and emotional well-being.
Findings to date reveal that nearly 75% of respondents reported a positive impact on their mental health, providing valuable insight into the role military reunions may play in reducing isolation and strengthening the bonds forged during military service. As the survey continues and additional responses are collected, the research will provide an expanding body of information to help the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Veteran organizations, and the hospitality industry better understand the importance of reconnecting Veterans.
